WMC 2026 seeks sleeping places for musicians

July 9, 2025 - In the summer of 2026, the WMC Foundation will celebrate its 75th anniversary during the 20th World Music Contest. The organization is asking residents, companies and associations to provide sleeping places for (international) musicians and thus contribute to the success of this world-famous event.

Host families wanted: open your doors to musicians from all over the world

For this special edition of WMC - the 20th since its inception in 1951 - an old tradition is being revived: housing participants with host families. With an expected participation of many thousands of musicians from home and abroad, there is a need for additional sleeping accommodations in and around Kerkrade.

Residents who can offer one or more places to stay for musicians are cordially invited to apply. Host families not only offer practical support, but are also a unique part of the international experience of WMC.

In addition, the organization appeals to companies and associations that have suitable group accommodations (minimum 10 persons). If necessary, WMC provides beds and bedding, and supports the organization in furnishing and coordination.

Volunteers are essential to the success of WMC and have a unique opportunity to experience the festival up close and be part of an international network of music professionals and enthusiasts.

The organization is looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to get involved in various areas, such as visitor information, logistics, hospitality and production.
