Symphonic Youth Wind Band Ulm

Bio

The Symphonic Youth Wind Band Ulm consists of 75 enthusiastic young musicians
from the district of Ulm/Alb-Donau. It was founded in 1999 on the occasion of the
25th anniversary of the Ulm/Alb-Donau District Wind Music Association. To become
a member of the orchestra, you have to be under the age of 27 and participate in an
audition. The orchestra prepares a varied concert program that includes not only
pieces for symphonic wind band, film music, and contemporary compositions, but
also big band transcriptions and program music. The highlights of the last ten years
have been concert tours to Rome, Kerkrade and Mainz moreover participations in
various contests as World Music Contest, BW Musix, Landesorchesterwettbewerb
Baden-Württemberg and Deutscher Orchester Wettbewerb. The aim of the
orchestra is to promote musical skills and further the personal development of our
young musicians. With skills and expertise gained, they return to their music clubs.
