Bio
Our symphonic wind orchestra comprises approximately 80 amateur musicians,
playing a wide range of instruments, including woodwinds, brass and percussion.
Our instrument selection includes both common and rare instruments, such as the
oboe, English horn, and bassoon. The ensemble's unique instrumentation creates a
distinctive and varied timbre when performed together, which has already been
recognised with several prestigious awards. Our diverse programme encompasses
original symphonic compositions for wind orchestra, arrangements of classical
works, and arrangements of well-known themes from film music. In addition, we
have had the privilege of premiering several pieces composed by our esteemed
conductor Rick Peperkamp. These compositions have transported the audience to
foreign worlds with their powerful sound. Solo performances by individual musicians
complement the orchestra's repertoire.
