The Show and Drum Band; " Met Eensgezindheid Tot Representatieve
Ontspanning", abbreviated as METRO, is the flagship of the association. The music
association M.E.T.R.O. Scheveningen was founded on February 1, 1954, as a
drummer-piper and trumpet corps and has since evolved into an orchestra with a
beautiful lineup. The enthusiastic members and professional instructors are
constantly working to keep METRO performing at the highest level. In recent years,
competing in the highest division, many first prizes (with distinction) have been
awarded at federation competitions and the World Music Contest. The orchestra
has participated in many parades, ceremonies, and tattoos in the Netherlands and
abroad during its more than 70-year history. We were also seen in the theater with
Claudia de Breij, on TV with Mies Bouwman, and in the movies, in the war film
Zwartboek and in Joep Meloen by André van Duijn. In addition to the show we
perform at tattoos, we also like to showcase our music during street parades. From
English and Eastern European marches to pop music, METRO is here to entertain
you musically.
