Bio
The MVB was founded as a scout band in 1953. Over the decades, it has grown
from a small neighborhood group into one of the leading marching bands in the
Netherlands. The band has performed throughout Europe and has made three
appearances in the United States. Since 1989, MVB has been a regular participant
in the World Music Contest (WMC). The 2026 edition will mark its 10th appearance.
With around 50 enthusiastic members, MVB is a close-knit family where quality,
discipline, teamwork, friendship, respect, fun, and attention to detail are central
values. Most performances take place outdoors — on streets and parade grounds
— creating a unique, energetic atmosphere with direct connection to the audience.
MVB is a progressive and welcoming organization with a strong sense of
community and pride in its city, combining quality, showmanship, and team spirit in
everything it does.
