In the summer of 2026, the World Music Contest (WMC) once again brings the very best of the international music world to Kerkrade. Two exceptional concerts stand out this year: German Brass on July 30 and the Orchestre de la Garde républicaine on July 27, 2026.
It is a true honor that these world-renowned ensembles are making their way to Kerkrade. German Brass ranks among the most prestigious brass ensembles in the world, known for its virtuosity and energetic performances. The Orchestre de la Garde républicaine from Paris, the official orchestra of the French Republic, captivates audiences with grandeur, tradition, and unmatched excellence.

Collaboration PLT & WMC
The World Music Contest (WMC) and Parkstad Limburg Theaters (PLT) have been working together successfully on unique projects for many years. With WMC 2026, we are taking the next step: in the coming years, we will introduce the labels “powered by WMC” for high-quality wind music projects at PLT, and “powered by PLT” for performing arts projects within WMC. Together, we actively reach out to our audiences and make our shared role as cultural creators and ambassadors more visible than ever before.
These concerts are part of the WMC Concert Cycle 2026, which will bring international top ensembles and orchestras to the stage in Kerkrade throughout the summer. Alongside the competition events for wind bands, fanfares, brass bands, percussion ensembles, and the marching and show contests in the stadium, they form the musical heart of the world in July 2026.
