Bio
Founded in 1897, our orchestra is located in a small village in Germany just east of
Frankfurt. There are about 70 active musicians in our wind band and 40 kids in our
youth ensembles. The education of our young musicians is usually undertaken by
professional musicians and we also collaborate with the local elementary school to
provide children’s musical education to ensure the next generation of musicians for
our orchestra. Rehearsals are held each Friday evening to give everyone a musical
start to the weekend. We emphasize playing modern symphonic wind band music,
participating in national and international band competitions and upholding our
many longstanding club traditions. To finance expenses we organize concerts,
theatre performances and other events and are very grateful for the support of our
financial sponsors who are essential to make our club possible. We are happy to
participate in WMC's second division with our choice piece "Artemis" by our friend
Bart Picquer. It is based on our band’s anthem "Die Jadg ist aus", which we use to
sing during social gatherings and after successful events. Artemis is dedicated to
the history of our club, our music, our home, our friendship.
