Marchingband Irene Hasselt (NL) Marchingband Irene from Hasselt is
a dynamic and versatile music ensemble with a rich history and a strong vision for
the future. Founded in 1950, Irene has grown into a leading marching band within
the Dutch marching scene. The band is known for its energetic performances,
precise choreography, and musical excellence. With members from across the
Zwartewaterland region, Irene forms a close-knit community where talent
development, enjoyment, and performance go hand in hand. The band has earned
numerous awards and titles, both nationally and internationally, and will once again
participate in the prestigious World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade in 2026.
Under the guidance of a passionate instructional team and conductor,
Marchingband Irene is preparing a spectacular marching performance that blends
tradition with innovation. Participation in the WMC is not just a competition for Irene,
but a musical journey centered around connection, creativity, and perseverance.
Proudly representing Hasselt on the global stage of wind music, Marchingband
Irene continues to inspire young and old alike with music in motion.
