Bio

Koninklijke Oude Harmonie van Eijsden (KOH) Location: Eijsden, Limburg,
Netherlands Origins and Early History The Koninklijke Oude Harmonie van Eijsden
was founded in 1874 by a group of prominent local citizens, including Jonkheer Mr.
C.P.G. Alting von Geusau, Guillaume Eugène De Greef, Clement Joseph Haenen,
Jean François Pisart, and Theodoor van Tiel. The founding was inspired by the
silver jubilee of King William III. Musical Achievements Wind Band; Performs
classical and contemporary works; currently led by conductor Xavier Scheepers
active since 2023. • 1989–2006: The orchestra achieved major successes,
including high placements at the World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade. • 2013:
Achieved a top score of 95.75 at the WMC, becoming Dutch champion and vice
world champion in the First Division Wind Band • 2017: Achieved a score of 94.08
at the WMC in the First Division Wind Band Musical Achievements Percussion
Ensemble Currently led by conductor Henrico Stevens, active since 2010 • 2012:
8th time Limburg Champion and 3rd Dutch Champion • 2016: Limburg champion
with a score of 96.67. • 2017: Dutch champion with a score of 98.00. Cultural Role
KOH plays a vital role in the cultural life of Eijsden (NL), participating in local
events, national competitions, and international festivals. The group is known for its
musical excellence and community involvement.
