Iserlohner Stadtmusikanten e.V.
Show Contests 1st division
Bio
The "Iserlohner Stadtmusikanten" were founded in 1979 as a marching band within
a rifle club and have been an indepen-dent, non-profit, and registered association
since 1995, as well as a member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Folk Music
Association. Since 2000, the Town Musicians have evolved into a show and
marching band modeled on Dutch examples. With their song selection, the band
distinguishes itself from marching bands with more traditional march music. Their
reper-toire includes popular pieces from the rock, pop, film, and musical genres. The
uniform in the style of the US Marines, completes their appearance. The rock band
led by the legendary singer Freddie Mercury was the inspiration for their
arrangement of "Queen - The Show." With songs by one of the greatest bands, the
show and marching band thrilled audiences at music parades and tattoos both at
home and abroad, and won the German Championship in 2019 with their show. The
Iserlohn Town Musicians' current show, "It's Movie Time," features catchy tunes
from Oscar-winning Hollywood block-busters such as Star Wars, Superman,
Ghostbusters, and more. The music for their shows is written and arranged exclusi
vely by the Dutchman René Leckie. Rene Ranzijn, a well-known figure in the
marching scene, is responsible for the chore-ography.
