Excelsior Renkum, founded on September 24, 1934, has a rich history that reflects
its evolving identity. Initially established as a mouth accordion association, the
group embraced change over the decades. On January 1, 1969, the name was
updated to Tamboer, Trompetter en Majorettekorps Excelsior, marking a shift in
focus to a drum, trumpet, and majorette corps. In 1994, the ensemble became
known as Drumfanfare Excelsior Renkum, emphasizing its drum and brass roots.
The most significant transformation came on March 1, 2013, when the group
adopted its current name, Excelsior Renkum, and embraced a modern vision.
Inspired by American marching bands, Excelsior Renkum combines dynamic
musical arrangements with vibrant choreography, creating an engaging and
energetic performance style. Today, Excelsior Renkum proudly represents its
community as a forward-thinking marching band, blending tradition with innovation.
Their performances showcase a unique mix of musical excellence and visual
artistry, leaving a lasting impression on audiences wherever they go.
