Bio

Brass Band Oefening en Uitspanning is a band from Wijk en Aalburg with a rich and
long-standing tradition. For decades, the band has achieved high rankings at the
Dutch Brass Band Championships in the first division. In 2013 and 2017, the band
became Dutch champion. The highlight of this upward trend was winning the first
division world title at the World Music Contest 2017 in Kerkrade. In addition, we
distinguish ourselves with interesting concerts in the region for a wide audience. As
an 'ambassador' of brass band music, we have had the opportunity to make
wonderful concert trips to Germany, Vietnam, and Romania. Our band is closely
connected to the local community. Many musicians come from the nearby region,
and we provide musical accompaniment for various local events. We offer music
education for both young and advanced musicians, making us an important pillar in
maintaining amateur music in the region. Over the past decades, we have been
able to give music lessons to hundreds of children. Many have found their way in
the world of music, and some have even made it their profession.
