Bio
Banda Sinfónica de Tibasosa was founded in 2008 and has since earned
recognition through its participation in local, national, and international festivals and
competitions. Renowned for its high musical quality, the band has achieved
numerous first-place awards and has proudly carried the name of Tibasosa onto
national and international stages. One of its most notable achievements was
winning First Prize “Summa cum Laude” at the European Music Festival for Young
People in Neerpelt, Belgium, with an outstanding score of 98 out of 100. The wind
band has also been invited as a special guest at prestigious festivals across
Colombia and Latin America, including the Festival de Música Andina “Mono Núñez”
in May 2024, where they headlined the main concert, broadcast across national
media. In April 2025, the ensemble performed at the Julio Mario Santo Domingo
Auditorium in Bogotá, one of Colombia’s top venues. Comprising 57 members—
ranging from talented youth to professional adult musicians—the Banda Sinfónica
de Tibasosa is dedicated to artistic excellence and the promotion of concert wind
band culture both nationally and internationally.
