WMC proudly presents a concert series showcasing the absolute world elite.
Leading orchestras from the international military music scene represent their countries as well as their unique wind music traditions. They present programmes featuring leading national composers and iconic works that have shaped wind music worldwide, complemented by exciting premieres.

In addition, the series includes two concerts by the very finest brass bands and brass ensembles of today, as well as the traditional finale of the International Conductors Competition.

All concerts within this series carry the designation ‘Best of’.

International Conductors Competition WMC 2026

Since 1970, the Conductors Competition has been an important part of the World Music Contest (WMC). The event offers young conductors an international platform to showcase their skills, gain experience working with professional wind orchestras, and receive direct feedback from an expert international jury.

Fanfare Band | 2e division

Traditionally, the competitions mainly attract fanfare orchestras from the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, but ensembles from other countries also regularly make their way to Kerkrade. As a result, the WMC fanfare competitions have grown into an important international event for this unique type of ensemble.

On Saturday, 25 April 2026, WMC Kerkrade and the Rodahal present top bands from the Alpine regions with their modern, folk-inspired brass music. During Blow! Indoor Festival 2026, musical friendship and Limburg hospitality come together to create one unforgettable experience.
