Fanfare Joost Wiersma Joost Wiersma, the fanfare orchestra from Jistrum, is led by
Ido Gerard Kempenaar. This year, Wouter Iseger is conducting the band at WMC
because of Ido his work with the Royal Marechaussee orchestra. The orchestra is
part of the 1st division. Since 1897, Joost Wiersma, has been sharing its sounds
with everyone who wishes to listen. A fanfare that manages to maintain an average
age under thirty and has already achieved various beautiful results in different
competitions. A Diamond for Parker (Rob Goorhuis) , the compulsory work at the
WMC 2017 was awarded 93.33 points by the jury (highest score). Overall, the
performance of Muziekvereniging Joost Wiersma at the WMC 2017 was good for 93
points and a second place in the 1st division for fanfare. In addition to participating
in competitions, various projects and concerts are organized annually, including
with artists such as Tania Kross, Cor Bakker, and Simone Lamsma. Also, for the
upcoming period, several special projects are in preparation, and collaboration will
again be sought with a surprising artist in combination with this enthusiastic and
