Bio

Drum band of the Royal Fanfare “Vrede & Eendracht” Kachtem – Izegem (Belgium)
Our renewed group is a lively mix of young talent and experienced musicians — a
perfect combination of enthusiasm, dedication, and love for music. The musical
leadership is on Arne Cools’ shoulders, who guides us every week with great
passion and a keen ear for detail. Leading the way is our energetic drum major
Alyssa Gheysens, who with a steady hand and a tight sense of beat keeps
everything running smoothly. On October 19-2025, we participated in the VLAMO
marching competition, where we proudly won first prize with 84% in the category
Excellence. In addition, Alyssa was awarded as best drum major in the highest
division, with a brilliant score of 85.5%. In 2013, we also participated in the WMC
marching competition in Kerkrade, where we achieved an impressive score of 84%.
This proves that our drum band continues a fine tradition of quality and musical
passion — with our sights set firmly on the future!
