Bio
Founded in 2009, the Hong Kong Ying Wa Primary School Symphonic Band,
embracing the motto "Music Excellence with a Soul," is often regarded as one of the
finest school bands in Hong Kong. They receive training that is highly focused on
discipline, attitude, ensemble skills, and their instrumental skills. Under the
professional guidance of Mr. Eric NG Kwok-Hei, the Ensemble and Music
Development Director, and Mr. Victor TAM Tze-Fai, the Chief Conductor, the
budding musicians further flourish to their full potential. The Hong Kong Ying Wa
Primary School Symphonic Band joins different competitions every year. Since
2009, they have obtained numerous local honors, including Gold Medals and
Champions in the Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows Competition and the Hong
Kong Schools Music Festival. Other notable international awards included: Gold
Band and Grand Prix Award in the Symphonic Wind Bands, Fanfares, and Brass
Bands category awarded by the 8th International Youth Music Festival in Bratislava,
Slovakia in 2023; 1st Prize in the Band Category awarded by the Florence Music
Festival in Florence, Italy in 2019; "Gold Medal" award in Harmony 3rd Division in
the 18th World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade, Netherlands in 2017 etc.
