Bio
The Wind Project of Schärding (WPoS) is a select symphonic wind orchestra based
in the district of Schärding, Upper Austria. Comprised of talented young musicians
from the region, WPoS performs at a high artistic level and presents two major
concerts or projects each year. Over the years, the ensemble has worked with a
diverse range of esteemed conductors, including Karl Geroldinger, Thomas Doss,
Johanna Heltschtl, and most recently, Benedikt Eibelhuber. In April 2025, WPoS
competed in the prestigious Filcorno d'Oro international wind orchestra competition
in Riva del Garda, Italy – winning not only first prize in the Prima category, but also
taking home the coveted overall prize.
