Bio

Founded in 1952, the Drum & Bugle Corps of Koninklijke Harmonie Sainte Cécile
Eijsden (NL) stands as one of the most distinctive musical ensembles in the south of
the Netherlands. Comprising around forty musicians, the corps unites percussion,
cavalry trumpets, clarions, hunting horns, bass trumpets and sousaphones into a
rich, ceremonial sound deeply rooted in military tradition. This unique composition
provides a special sound suitable for both outdoor performances and for concerts in
a concert hall. Together with the Wind Orchestra the Drum- and Bugle Corps is
responsible for the famous, majestic march performances of Koninklijke Harmonie
Sainte Cécile Eijsden. Renowned for its elegant uniforms, powerful presence, and
artistic precision, the corps has built an outstanding reputation both at home and
abroad. In June 2024, it achieved a Gold Medal at the international march
competitions of the Rasteder Musiktage, a milestone that reaffirmed its excellence.
Under the dedicated leadership of Drum-Major Nico Dassen and instructor Tom
Simons, the Corps continues to bridge tradition with contemporary musical
expression. In July 2026, the Drum & Bugle Corps of the Koninklijke Harmonie
Sainte Cécile Eijsden will proudly represent the Netherlands in the World Division of
the World Music Contest (WMC) Kerkrade. Precision. Passion. Prestige.
