Spielmannszug Radeberg
Marchingband Kampioen divisie
Bio
Founded in 1968, Spielmannszug Radeberg is a traditional marching band based in
Radeberg, Saxony, Germany. Our marching band has 60 active members between
the ages of 15 and 63. Our repertoire features traditional marches and modern
arrangements performed on classic marching instruments such as flutes, snare
drums, lyres, cymbals, and bass drums. A distinctive feature of the band is its
historically inspired uniform after the example of the Saxon Infantry Regiment „Prinz
Friedrich August“ from around 1810. Spielmannszug Radeberg has achieved
significant national and international success under the leadership of drum major
Jeanine-Lysette Schwenke. At the WAMSB 2024 in Rastede we won the World
Champion title in the “Street-Parade” and the title Vice World Champion in the
“Marching” categories. We also won the Saxon State Championship 15 times since
1998. The band has performed at prestigious events such as the Munich
Oktoberfest Parade. International highlights include the Steuben Parade in New
York (2008), Napoléon & Joséphine’s wedding reenactment in Paris (2014), the
reenactment of the Battle of Königgrätz in the Czech Republic (2016), and the
Battle of Borodino near Moscow (2019).
