Sociedad Musical ''Santa Cecilia'' de Macastre

Harmonieorkest 3e divisie

Bio

The Symphonic Band of the ‘’Santa Cecilia’’ Musical Association of Macastre
(Spain) represents one of the fundamental pillars of the cultural life of this Valencian
municipality. Founded over a century ago, in 1887, its mission has always been to
promote music as a tool for social cohesion, comprehensive education, and cultural
outreach. Comprised of highly dedicated musicians, most of whom have trained at
the association’s very own music school, the Symphonic Band combines Valencian
musical tradition with a spirit open to innovation, contemporary repertoire, and
artistic collaboration. Throughout its history, it has been recognized for its
excellence in performance and commitment to ongoing training, as well as for its
tireless work in cultural dissemination, developing a consistent and diverse artistic
activity that goes beyond the traditional band repertoire. Among the most notable
collaborations and performances are: collaboration with WASBE; Fliscorno d'Oro
Contest; the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions of the ADARTS FESTIVAL; Music Festival
Szeged (Hungary); hosting and participating in the memorial concert for the great
friend and conductor Henrie Adams; and collaborations with prestigious artists such
as Johan de Meij and Abraham Cupeiro. It currently has three groups: the
Symphonic Band, conducted by Francisco Carrascosa Miguel; the Polyphonic
Choir, directed by Astrid Kroon; and the Wind Ensemble), conducted by David
Gilabert Bru.
