Bio
Cadenza Twello is a leading ensemble renowned for its vibrant musical programs,
rich ensemble sound, and compelling performances. Under the direction of
conductor Robbert Houtkamp, the group continually pushes artistic boundaries by
embracing innovative compositions that challenge and inspire its talented
musicians. The ensemble draws from a wide range of musical styles, historical
periods, electronic elements, and other art forms to shape its unique sound. To
preserve its identity and creative voice, many of the ensemble’s works are original
compositions and arrangements written by its own members and conductor.
Cadenza has a strong track record of excellence in competition. At every
participation in the World Music Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade, the ensemble became
World Champion: in 2009 in the First Division, and in 2013, 2017, and 2022 in the
Concert Division.
