Showkorps Wilhelmina

Marswedstrijden World divisie

Bio

Showkorps Wilhelmina was found on August 14th, 1898, and owes their name to
Princess Wilhelmina, who was heir to the throne at the time. In 2001, this
Showkorps made their debut in the marching competitions at the World Music
Contest (WMC) in Kerkrade, winning a gold medal. In 2009, members participated
in both the marching and show competitions, winning the world title in the 1st
Division Showband Style for their show performance. In 2022, the corps took part in
the World Music Contest for the sixth time and once again won a gold medal in the
World Division marching competition. In 2023, Showkorps Wilhelmina celebrated
their 125th anniversary! This milestone was honored by the BBM and KNMO with a
silver medal adorned with a gilded crown. Showkorps Wilhelmina has been a
welcome guest at events both in The Netherlands and abroad for many years. The
group performs at tattoos, parades, competitions, and various other occasions. The
corps consists of around 30 enthusiastic amateur musicians. Their repertoire
includes marches, pop music, chorales, and everything inbetween. At Showkorps
Wilhelmina, performance goes hand in hand with enjoyment. The part after the
rehearsel, is just as important to them as the intensive and disciplined rehearsal
itself!
