Bio
SG Fanfarenzug Potsdam e. V. is a marching music ensemble from Potsdam,
Germany. The group was founded in 1963 and has grown into a strong and
passionate community of musicians of all ages. We combine music with movement
and create powerful performances full of energy, rhythm and emotion. Our members
come from different generations. Young musicians learn from experienced players,
and long-time members are inspired by new talent. This connection between
generations shapes our identity and spirit. We train with commitment and discipline,
always striving for the highest musical and visual quality. Our artistic team consists
of active musicians who give their time and heart to the ensemble. This shared
responsibility strengthens our culture and creates a family-like atmosphere. SG
Fanfarenzug Potsdam proudly represents the city of Potsdam at events in Germany
and abroad. We perform at festivals, parades and competitions and enjoy meeting
people through music. Our goal is to inspire audiences and to grow together as a
team. In 1993, we were one of the first ensembles from the former East Germany to
compete in Kerkrade. Since then, we have proudly taken part in the World Music
Contest every time.
