Bio

The Royal FASAM Orchestra was founded in 1904 as the Fanfare Saint André,
named after the parish. Modernised in 1988 to FASAM from the initials of the
original FA FAnfare SA St André M Marching band. Throughout its history, its
leaders have never ceased to improve its image. Throughout its history, its leaders
have never ceased to improve its image. In 1970, a group of majorettes was formed
and they quickly became Belgian champions. Until 2011, the majorettes were the
highlight of the Group's performances. In 1991, FASAM turned a corner and timidly
began to perform street shows. But it wasn't until 2010 that it really got involved in
show-parades. She took part in the Vlamo competition in Wevelgem and won 83%
of the points, marking the start of another adventure, that of the Taptoes. She
travelled the roads of Belgium, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany.
In 2019, she took part in the Berlin Taptoe at the Max Shmeling Halle in front of
12.500 spectators at each of the three performances. In 2022, she took part in the
World Championships in Kerkrade and won a gold medal, the culmination of a long
period of work. In October 2024, she won first place in the Stardivision at the Vlamo
competition.
