Bio
Founded in 1984, the Nishihara High School Marching Band is committed to
performing "music that stays in the heart" and "marching that inspires." Our
students enjoy a fulfilling high school life thanks to our strong commitment to
balancing academics and club activities. Our activities extend both domestically and
internationally. In Japan, we compete in the All Japan Marching Band
Championships, which are hosted by the Japan Marching Band Association every
year. We have received numerous Gold Awards, including five first-place honors.
We also actively participate in community and ceremonial events. Internationally,
since 2001, we have competed in the World Music Contest, held every four years in
Kerkrade, Netherlands, and earned the title of World Champion of the Show
Contest in 2022. We have also performed at festivals and cultural events overseas,
such as the 90th anniversary celebration of Okinawan immigration to Peru in Lima
in 1996 and the 100th Anniversary Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2000. In 2024, we
were honored to perform at the "Taiwan Presidential Office Concert 2024" at the
invitation of the Taiwanese government. We sincerely appreciate your continued
support for the Nishihara High School Marching Band.
