Bio
The Mus’Art Youth Wind Orchestra (MYWO), established in 2009, serves as the
dynamic youth wing of its main orchestra under the auspices of the Jurong Green
Community Club. MYWO provides an avenue for young musicians — spanning
primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, as well as young adults — to cultivate
their shared passion for wind band music. Under the tutelage of Mr. Wilson Ong,
MYWO enriches its members and audiences through exceptional orchestral
performances and comprehensive opportunities for musical development. This
holistic approach underscores MYWO's commitment to fostering both community
engagement and artistic growth. MYWO regularly graces local stages, including
renowned venues such as the Esplanade, and has also gained international
recognition, notably participating in the Kagoshima Asian Youth Arts Festival in
Japan in 2024. MYWO also competed in the Third Division of the prestigious World
Music Contest held in Kerkrade, Netherlands, in 2017, where it achieved a
remarkable top-three position, earning a Gold with Distinction. Driven by the
unwavering support of its youth and audiences, MYWO remains steadfast in its
pursuit of musical excellence.
