Bio
Fanfare Vrede en Eendracht is a music association based in Kachtem (Izegem,
Belgium). The association was founded in 1905. Since its founding, this fanfare has
experienced countless highlights – from memorable performances at local events to
winning prestigious awards at music competitions. Every member, every conductor,
and every musical moment has contributed to the unique identity and success of
Fanfare Kachtem. We cherish our history and take pride in the strong community
we have built over the years. At the same time, we look ahead to the future,
remaining committed to musical excellence and connection. In addition to a drum
band, the fanfare also has its own youth program – called Speelse Notenkermis,
Rookies, Juniors, and Avanti – where young musicians get the chance to make
music together and grow in their musical journey. In this way, we aim to introduce
young people to music and encourage them to learn to play an instrument. Since
the end of 2023, the orchestra has been led by Wouter Vercruysse.
