Fanfare Eendracht Nieuwenhagerheide
Fanfareorkest 1e divisie
Bio
Fanfare band Eendracht Nieuwenhagerheide, Landgraaf was founded in 1890 and
is one of the more successful bands of its kind in the Netherlands. It reached six
national and two provincial titles in its long history, and in 1985 the band was one of
three fanfare bands to enter the first ever Concert Division Contest at the 10th WMC
in Kerkrade. In 1995 the band decided to step back into 1st Division to allow more
attention for its youth program. In 2016 at the Limburg Championships the band
was awarded an amazing 96 points score and the title at the LBM-contests in
Roermond conducted by Hardy Mertens. The band is also known for its part in the
pop song “Blaosmeziek” by Gé Reinders, which reached the pop charts in 1999,
and is still represented in the Top 2000-chart. In 2001 the band performed this
number with Reinders at the Opening Ceremony of the 14th WMC. In the last 100
years the band has had only five conductors. After a miserable 10 years without a
proper rehearsal home, the band bought a former church in 2018 and rebuilt it into
a magnificent concert and rehearsal facility: Cultuurhuis Landgraaf, which received
national acclaim.
