Deutsche Jugend-Brassband Lübeck e.V.

Marswedstrijden Champion divisie

Bio

Founded in 1949 as a scout group, the association evolved over the years from a
boys-only marching band into a mixed marching and fanfare band. Between 2000
and 2010, its musical focus shifted from traditional to modern marching music. As a
result of this development, the name was changed in 2011 to "Deutsche Jugend
Brassband Lübeck e.V." – abbreviated as DJB Lübeck. In addition to numerous trips
across Europe, the club’s most significant milestones include participating in state
and national championships since 2010, where they have earned several silver and
gold medals. Notably, the band won two German championship titles at the
"German Championship of Music" in 2014. This success was followed by further
achievements at the Rasteder Musiktage in both marching and parade categories,
as well as participation in the 2018 International Mars- und Showwettstrijden in
Hamont. In 2023, DJB qualified for the 2024 WAMSB World Championships in
Rastede by winning a gold medal at the Rasteder Musiktage. There, they achieved
gold status in the marching category with 86 points and took second place in the
corresponding instrumental category.
