Bio
C.M.V. Oranje Bolsward began in 1937 as a drum band that performed exclusively
in the brass band's marches. From 1985 onwards, the drum band perfomed more
independently as a malletband, consisting of marimbas, xylophones, marching
bells, lyras and an extensive percussion section. Since 2015, the drum band has
focused more on concert percussion, starting in the third division. They participate
in competitions and perform in theaters and at festival. In recent years, the
percussion ensemble of C.M.V. Oranje Bolsward has grown into the first division.
The percussion ensemble consists of 20 enthusiastic percussionist who seek
challenges en want to improve their skills. They also prioritize the enjoyment of
playing together and having a good time. Finally, C.M.V. Oranje offers a platform for
children and young adults to come into contact with music and percussion.
