Bio
Brass Band “MERUM” was founded in 1950 as a fanfare orchestra. In a short
period of time, the ensemble achieved many musical highlights, including several
national championships. In 1980, the fanfare orchestra was transformed into a
brass band. At that time, this type of ensemble was still a relatively unknown
phenomenon in the province of Limburg. Once again, impressive results followed.
In 2022, the band secured 3rd place at the WMC in Kerkrade. Today, the band has
a regional character. In addition to promoting the brass band phenomenon, the
band aims to offer advanced brass and percussion players the opportunity to further
develop their skills. The repertoire includes original compositions and arrangements
in all possible styles, guaranteeing a dazzling program for the audience.
