Bio
In 1998, conductor Bart Van Neyghem founded brass band Bacchus in Lennik,
Belgium. The band originally started as a little brass ensemble, that was enlarged
with musicians from all over the country with a passion for brass music. During
more than 25 years, the band participated in different contests and competitions in
Belgium and abroad. They won several of these contests and soloist awards and
became Belgian Champions in 3rd, 2nd and 1st division more than once. Besides,
Brassband Bacchus is the current world champion in 1st division, after winning the
WMC contest in 2022 in this category. They also achieved to win the WMC contest
in 3rd and 2nd division in earlier editions. At Brassband Bacchus, the musicians
want to combine the joy of playing music, together with a high and challenging
technical standard. In terms of repertory, this orchestra is very flexible. Depending
on the setting, activity and audience, their program can range from seriously classic
to playful modern. We hope that you enjoy our performance!
