Brass Band Schoonhoven B

Bio

Brass Band Schoonhoven B (BBS-B) competes in the 2nd division and has been
conducted by Joop Nijholt since September 2022. The band was founded in 1993
as a youth initiative within Brass Band Schoonhoven and quickly developed into a
full-fledged brass band in 1994. BBS-B has achieved notable success over the
years, including a 4th division championship at the Dutch Nationals (NBK) in 1997,
a 2nd division title in 2006, and another in 2013 and 2015. Under the direction of
Robbert Vos, the band won silver at the Open Flemish Championships in 2012 and
repeated this achievement at the Dutch Nationals and World Music Contest in 2013.
Since 2022, under the leadership of Joop Nijholt, BBS-B has continued to grow,
securing 2nd place at the Dutch Nationals in both 2022 and 2024. In 2024, the band
also participated in the Flemish Open Brass Band Championships (VOBK), earning
a 3rd place finish. BBS-B regularly competes in national and international events
and performs concerts across the Netherlands. With a strong social role, the band
provides musical contributions to various community activities in the city of
Schoonhoven.
