BLOW! by WMC Kerkrade
On Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September next, the festival BLOW! by WMC will take place in the Stadspark in Kerkrade. The versatile wind music festival without musical boundaries, organised by the World Music Contest (WMC), is there for young and old.
Festival BLOW! by WMC stands for innovation and rejuvenation in wind music, targeting a broad audience in the (Eu)region. This makes Kerkrade as a municipality within the Netherlands this weekend not only a cultural and musical hotspot, but also a full-fledged Sound City for wind music.
BLOW! by WMC presents a hip programme with a colourful cross-section of what wind music has to offer. " During the BLOW! by WMC weekend, we will again introduce the audience to many different genres" says artistic manager Björn Bus. " Think Böhmisch-Mährisch, pop, jazz and funk. These genres fit perfectly into the formula of BLOW! because we show how broad wind music can be." The organisation will announce the full line-up in the coming months, but Southbrass, Marshall Cooper and Brassers will definitely be there.
Bart van der Roost added: "I am very happy that we have been able to put together such a fantastic programme and realise this with so many partners, and not least together with our volunteers. It is the ideal way to end the summer and also to have a presence in our Kerkrade in the intervening years of the WMC!"
