Valaisia Brass Band Valaisia Brass Band was formed in 2008, in the canton of Valais, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The band is composed of established musicians from the region, as well as very young players, products of the thriving Valaisan brass band scene. The ensemble counts in its ranks several Valaisan and Swiss solo champions. Valaisia Brass Band took part in the Swiss Nationals for the first time in 2008. It won the top section title in 2009, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 with a historical 5 in a row. In 2013, the band won the Swiss Open Contest in Lucern. In 2017, Valaisia Brass Band made history by becoming the first band from the continent to win the British Open, with founding conductor Arsène Duc receiving the Harry Mortimer conductor prize. After their success they’ve had the chance to participate another two times. After becoming 3rd in 2016 and 2nd in 2017, Valaisia Brass Band became the European Champion in Utrecht in 2018. The band will attend their 6th europeans, as always with their award winning conductor Arsène Duc.
