Roda Hall
From € 25.00

During Wind & Dance Fusion, dance, wind music and percussion flow together in a variety of styles and genres. Before the break, the program will feature the world premiere of the classical ballet "Bells of Paradise." An exceptional ballet for wind band and dancers by Dutch composer Ed de Boer. The wind band St. Jan Wierden, together with dancers from the preparatory course of ArtEZ (University for the Arts Enschede), will be responsible for this performance.

Calefax Reed Quintet, percussionist Dominique Vleeshouwers, artists' collective Collabros and top choreographer Jennifer Romen will blend urban culture, contemporary dance and wind music in the second part of the program. Dance, spoken word, wind music and historical visual material form the ingredients with which these artists tell the extraordinary history of the WMC. The music is by composers such as Giel Vleggaar, Steve Reich and Yann Tiersen.

This production, made especially for WMC, oscillates between past and present, between tradition and innovation," says Björn Bus, Artistic Manager of WMC. We want to provide a platform for new, valuable collaborations that builds bridges between different art forms. We are proud that these creators have found each other on the stage of WMC."

This concert is made possible by Fonds Podiumkunsten (FPK).
